First business units organized
1995
Cisco creates five distinct business units that reflect our major networking product groups, naming a vice president/general manager to head each group. Each business unit, Workgroup, ATM High End, Access, Core and IBM Internetworking, have their own marketing and engineering organization. This structure formalizes a product sector grouping intialized by Cisco's expansion into new business sectors.
